The fashion brand for young women, Jonathan Logan was founded in 1944 by David Schwartz. From 1944 to the late 50s, Dorris Varnum was the designer of the brand. Then, Jeanne Carr followed her. In the Sixties, Jonathan Logan was one of the largest company in the United States. Different lines were created by Jonathan Logan to target different consumers such as Youth Guild and Butte Knit. In the late 1960s, David Schwartz’s son Richard became the head of Jonathan Logan. In 1985 the Schwartz family sold the company.
