Jane Austen’s early life at Steventon, Hampshire

The English writer Jane Austen (1775-1817) and her family had lived at Steventon in the Hampshire for twenty years.

Jane Austen wrote six major novels : Sense and sensibility (1811), Pride and prejudice (1813), Mansfield Park (1814), Emma (1815), Persuasion (1817) and Northanger Abbey (1817).

Jane Austen’s profil :
Jane Austen lived during the Georgian era, under the reign of King George III of Great Britain and Ireland and King George IV of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and king of Hanover. The Georgian era (1714-1830) corresponded to the reigns of the first four Hanoverian kings of Britain. All of them were named George. Regency (1811-1820) was a sub-period of the Georgian era.
