There is a Polynesian legend about black pearls. It tells that Oro (god of fertility and peace) gave a black pearl as a gift to the Polynesian people, when he descended to earth on a rainbow. In the Christian religion, black pearls were the Adam’s tears. This necklace is also composed of garnets. “Garnet” comes from the Latin word “malum granatum” meaning “pomegranate fruit”. In the Bible, garnet was the light Noah used to find his way in the darkness.
