Under the mistletoe for the New Year

The Celts and Norse people believed the plants had mystical proprieties (some have sprigs staying green in Winter). Bedsides, during the Medieval times, mistletoe was believed to bring luck.
Moreover, in the Norse mythology, there is a tale telling the story of Balder (son of the goddess Frigga). He was killed by an evil spirit using an arrow made of mistletoe. Desperate, Frigga fall in tears turning in white berries which covered the mistletoe. It was a sign of her love for his son. Thrilled by the résultat, she blessed the plant and promised a kiss to all who passed beneath of it from that day.
