The vintage Alsatian illustrator Hansi

Jean Jacques Waltz (1873-1951) alias Hansi was a French, Alsatian illustrator. He illustrated postcards, posters and books depicting Alsace : “L’Histoire d’Alsace racontée aux petits d’enfants” (1912), “Mon village” (1913), “Paradis tricolore” (1918) and “L’Alsace Heureuse” (1918). Complete artist, he made also earthenware, iron forged, signs… Besides, during the first World War, he was a symbol of the Alsatian Resistance to the German occupation.
