James Galanos (1924-2016) was an American fashion designer who dressed America’s social elite and celebrities during 46 years.
During the Sixties, the A-line dress, the mock neck dress, the fit and flare dress, the shift dress and the trapeze dress were very popular. Moreover, creators often designed beaded, embellished and brocard dresses. Besides, geometric, Op art and floral prints were very used.
Vicky Vaughn was the junior division of R & M Kaufmann in Aurora, Illinois. The Kaufman brothers start their business in the 1920s. They produced high quality dresses and sleepwear but with moderate prices thanks to a mass production in their factories.
Bobbie Brooks was founded in 1939 by Maurice Saltzman and Max Reiter in Cleveland. Initially it was named Ritmore Sportswear. After Saltzman bought the company in 1953, it was named Bobbie Brooks. The brand targeted mainly the young woman.
