Op art (optical art) uses optical illusions phenomena. This movement appeared in the middle of the 1950s. The designation “op art” has been established since 1965 at the end of the MoMa exhibition called “The Responsive Eye”. The major artists are Victor Vasarely, Jésus Soto, Bridget Riley, Cruz Diez, Julio Leparque and Youri Messen-Jaschin.
