Born in Holland, Jan Sluijters (1881-1957) was a Modern painter. He was a member of the circle of Modern art, founded in 1910 in Amsterdam which gather Modern painter who lived in Paris.

Bal Tabarin was a Parisian cabaret in the 9th district (36, rue Victor-Massé). It was founded in 1904 by the music composer and conductor Auguste Bosc.
