These churchs had been built under the reign of Roger II (1101-1154). Born in 1095, in Palermo (Sicily), Roger II was the Grand Count of Sicily from 1105 to 1130. He became King of the Norman kingdom of Sicily in 1130 and reigned until his death, in 1154.
