Metropolis (directed by Fritz Lang, 1927) is a movie depicting a dark future with a vertiginous architecture. The Metropolis is divided between the powerful people and the workers. The workers are exploited and live miserably.
A robot is invented by a savant in order to provoke a riot with the workers.
