The Irish painter John Lavery (1856-1941) made a portrait of his wife Lady Lavery in 1922. It is a delicate, charming and graceful paint. The warm light emanating from Lady Lavery is somptuous and contrasts with the dark background. The lady is very elegant with a steamy dress. The transparence and movement of the dress as well as the lady’s face are wonderful.
In 1874, the Belgium orientalist painter Jean-François Portaels (1818-1895) realised this portrait.
