One of my favourite actor, the British Cary Grant (1904-1986) was charming and disarmingly clownish. He played in wonderful movies, worked alongside the greatest actresses (Audrey Hepburn, Jean Arthur, Irene Dunne, Katharine Hepburn…) and directors (Stanley Donen, Hitchcok, Leo McCarey…). Abble to play very different characters, he was an outstanding comic actor but also good in action and thriller movies. He starred in the best screwball comedies. He was very funny and spiritual in “Charade“, “Bringing up baby“, “Holiday“, “His girl friday” , “The awful truth” and “An affair to remember“. He could also be mysterious and disturbing like in the Hitchcock’s movie “Notorious“.
