Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice

The book Pride and prejudice tells one of the most iconic love story in the litterature with Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy. They will overcome obstacles (social class differences, familial issues…) and their mistakes of judgements to be happy together.
Mr. Darcy (Fitzwilliam Darcy) is a wealthy man ; he is the Lady Catherine de Bourgh’s nephew and a close friend of Mr. Bingley. He is charismatic, dark, mysterious, contemptuous and pride.

Jane Austen wrote her novels during the Regency period in England. The Regency period was named due to the Regency of Prince George IV of England, which started with his father, King George III, being declared unfit to rule in 1811 and ended with his father’s death in 1820. The Regency period was characterized by romance, luxury and raise of literature and arts.
The Regency (1811-1820) was a sub-period of the Georgian era (1714-1830). The Georgian era corresponded to the reigns of the first four Hanoverian kings of Britain. All of them were named George.
Jane Austen lived during the Georgian era, under the reign of King George III of Great Britain and Ireland and King George IV of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and king of Hanover.
