George Hurrell (1904-1992) was an American photographer, famous for his portraits of Hollyood movie stars (Joan Crawford, Rita Hayworth, Bette Davis, Ava Gardner, Norma Shearer, Carole Lombard, Clark Gable, Gary Cooper…). He created glamour, sensual and magnificent photographs.
From 1930 to 1932, he worked for the studio MGM as a portrait photographer. Then, from 1932 to 1938, he founded his own studio at 8706 Sunset Boulevard and collaborated with the major studios including MGM. In the early 1940s, he worked at the Warner Brothers Studios. Then, he moved to the Colombia in the late 1940s.
