Larry Aldrich (1906-2001) was an American fashion designer and art collector. In 1927, he started his own label in New York. In 1957, Marie McCarthy was designated head designer. He founded in 1964 the innovative Aldrich Museum for Contemporary Art in Ridgefield. Inspired by art, he created in 1965 a dress collection with Op art designs. In 1966, he sold his fashion business to be committed to his art museum.
