Resort or Cruise is the pre-Spring Summer collection presented by designers from May to July and delivered in stores after Fall clothes gone on sale and before the comercialization of Spring clothes. The fashion designer Derek Lam says “it’s about creating desirable pieces that can take you from October through early spring”. Resort has the great advantage of having the long selling time on the floor. It allows designers to keep up with store interest and customers to have a constant flow of new and versatile products. Originally, this pre-collection was created for jet-set or wealthy clients who travelled to warm destinations in winter.
