The vintage fashion photographer Richard Rutledge

Richard Rutledge ( 1923-1985) was an American studio photographer for the publisher Condé Nast. For a 15-year period following the World War II, he had realized photographs for prestigious fashion magazines such as Vogue, Glamour, and House & Garden. Multi-skilled, he shot beauty, fashion and shoes photos for magazines.

His photos are imbued with poesy and delicacy. In his photographs, the models are natural and expressive. Very often, his pictures involved two or several models, creating vitality and interaction. Richard Rutledge captured charming and lively moments. Very meticulous, model’s poses and details were studied carefully by him.
