The Old Hollywood photographer Bob Landry

Bob Landry (1913-1960) was an American photographer at Life and Time magazine. He shot the greatest Hollywood stars such as Rita Hayworth, Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe and Clark Gable.

He is namely famous for a picture taken in August 1941, of Rita Hayworth posing as a pinup and wearing a satin and lace nightgown. Amy Adams posed as Rita Hayworth for Vanity Fair, under the objective of Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot. Besides, Bob Landry was also a war photographer : he was in the Pacific when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor ; he covered the first wave of American soldiers at D-Day and the liberation of Paris.
