I discovered this beautiful and delicious pastry shop when i walked on the hill of Montmartre in Paris. The decoration and the pastries are very refined. The chandelier, the madeleine printed wallpaper and the door handle in the form of a madeleine are charming.
The shop proposes French pastries (St Honoré, Mont-blanc, eclair…), biscuits (madeleine, financier…), viennoiseries (croissant, brioche…) and also sweets (marshmallow, fruit paste, jam…). The pastry cook is Gilles Marchal who was elected pastry chef of the year in 2004 and medal-holder of the town of Paris in 2008.
The pastries are marvellous both aesthetically and gustatory. The madeleine is highlighted with a variety of flavours. We can relish flavorful madeleines (nature, pistachio paste, lemon zest, orange zest, black chocolate, gingerbread with orange marmalade, salted butter caramel). I degusted the pistaccio paste madeleine and i was impressed! The pistachio is particulary present and it is very gourmet. I also tasted the wonderful vanilla eclair.
